GREEN GLASSHOUSE

I  see  I  settled

It would faintly be a  fate

(Freedom, comes a sweet release)

But I had settled

With   wait.

.

Where our hours had  hard like hours

And landfilling them

Sets the sadder shadowed facets of silence

To  stem.

.

Hey, yr own old whore,

Before you defile

Yr dreamily dark greenhouse

Pitching

Both  words and stark sticks & stones,

Get a hard look

On each hard paned reflection

.CELESTE

.

That crap in yr creamy breasts  threaten us.

.

I pray for the day

We lay our selves back

Just time on our back

I sing only songs that ring only true

Right to  only to you

In bed we’ll watch “Red Shoes”

We’ll leave off counting re-watching “Brief Encounter”

We’ll listen read & listen to Burton’s reading of “Under Milk Wood”

At least we’ll feast on a breading and cheese plate

At last we’ll  settle  in  safe

From cancer   and

From  wait.

MUSCLES QUIP

April 4, 2020

Naked, Upper Body, Fit, Lifestyle, Athlete, Person

I confess

My prowess is

To wait & to watch &

To wit, if fate slips me a quip

Take a sip & reassess then readdress

The matter no later than now

STILL WAITING

All said, when waiting

Was a silent art, Worth it.

I must’ve been shushed.

You’re the only one I call Honey, I’ve ever called.

.

Now,  it’s too quiet.

I fear  our embers  quiet

From the fiery glow

To firefly intermittent.

.

Again, I can imagine and wish

When  we  can restart

Our  hearts  that

They will be re-nourished.

A barge I bet  can float through our wait.

Hundreds of roads apart, while  hearts,

Skin-wall near,  forever here,  & there with you   wait.

door

I’ve dreamt.  I forget..

I only kept

One excerpt, one clip

I took back

Here to look back to

.

You may see way down

To two  in the water,

Not drowned.

You could see that down there,

That they were freely moving.

.

See

We ride out on

That river of grasses,

And that  for a while now

Made for the miles

Between us.

.

We’d ride out on

The one door, the one

We always want open.

We’d ride one door,

Still open

Wide to a wide world.

DOLLAR STORE GLASSES

January 2, 2020

“And we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall)”  from “Heroes,”  Bowie

“I never touch you”  from  “Breaking Glass,”  Bowie

.

.

I wear dollar-store glasses
they help me work on perspective.
I live for nothing I can think of.  fact.
It’s suggested I might just strive for focus.
In my day bed i might live
with one window & uncertainly my curtain cracked

I can wear one seventy five
On dollar-store glasses
I passed par for an old guy.
I’m far from passed, muy alive.
Tho’ she could present a good argument
Contesting that mad “muy” adjective.
I abstain again & again
And I’d hate to publicly substantiate

NOTHING PLENTY

November 30, 2019

For  nothing  plenty

I wait, right at  distraction.

Don’t say “Close yr eyes..”

.

“For force stop”, I mean,

I see Beauty, like looking there.

I’m stealing each stare.

HELL'S DITCH

.

Splash something stronger at the base of my pint glass

It’s more fertile earth

For to birth the guts & gas

One might need at night

To go on & drive clear off

Dark high-wire highways

Onto red dirt, rolling on cooling red dirt, to dead ends

So bleak a laugh comes out as a clearing cough

THE WAITING

March 4, 2019

I couldn’t keep my shirt on
I actually had a hand at the door
I wouldn’t wait for the EKG guy
.
The express lines were full up at the IGA.
So was the cart in front of me, the one in my way.
My body required liquids I needed to buy.
& me, I wouldn’t wait for the EKG guy
.
My car needed work (I see I did too, OK?)
Ever still again, Time stalled & would stay.
Never, “Our time is up for today”
I’d bet Time’s a fleeting debt, not a gift.
I about bolted but my Ford’s on the lift.

.You’d think a man with wait issues
Would shy away some
From a long-distance love, he could only see some.
How he’d wait & wait for her laugh on the phone
How he’d wait & wait for her letters to come
How he’d wait & wait for liaisons alone
How he’d wait & wait for a time all their own.
